What should we ask and expect of the Discount Auto Insurance Company?
All of us look for the cheapest and best auto insurance, especially in times of a downturn in the economy.
Insurance is one area that we start to question, in reference to the premiums that we pay.
After all, most of us have paid for years for insurance and never made a claim.
Of course, it is wise to look for the best deal, but let us look at some of the factors, the pro and cons, and whether we qualify for those cheaper rates and how to go about.
Factors such as age, experience, stable employment all play a factor, so how do we best present ourselves to secure the best discount premium.
What questions should we ask of the insuring company? How should we go about it?
1. Compare quotes from several Auto Insurance companies
2. Let the Insurance companies know that you are comparing quotes
3. Check the various packages on offer
4. Consider using an Insurance broker, they can often negotiated the better deal
5. Check the credentials of thecompany
6. A majority of states require drivers to meet certain limits. Check with the department of insurance in your state.
7. Should I take Comprehensive, or can I take a lower cover. Dependent on autos age.
Factors that can assist;
- Female? Women can qualify for cheaper rates.
- Age? Over 25 helps to qualify for cheaper rates.
- Clean driving record, with no recent insurance claims
- Stable employment history
- Moderate drinker
- Are you in good health?
- Do you have a completely clear driving record?
- Consider including your auto insurance with your home and/or life insurance policy
- Maintain the same auto insurance company for a number of years.
- Older vehicles may not need to be covered for collision or comprehensive

-The car has an anti-theft device; you can qualify for insurance discounts
However, answering the question of which company offers the best rates is not as easy as simply naming a particular company.
In summation, shop around for quotes from at least 3 or 4auto insurance companies, check their credentials. Hopefully you will not make a claim, but it is important to know that if you do, that they are a trustworthy and stable company who will act in a honourable manner.
